June Update

Hello Fitness Fans,

In Davis we have already had a bit of summer heat and even some humidity.  We know there is more to come.  Below you will find 2 links to two articles regarding hydration.  They both give recommendations regarding daily amounts.   The best way to monitor your level of hydration is by noting the color of your urine.  The second article has a "slide show" at the bottom of the page showing the various shades of yellow from "optimal" to "seek medical attention."  I recommend you start your day with a glass of water.  It is also a good idea to drink a glass of water 60-30 minutes before our exercise class and feel free to bring a water bottle too.  Please read the links below.

Summer means hot weather and it is also a time of vacations.  Do check your name off on our roster as you enter the Senior Center and if you will miss more than a day of class do record your planned absence in our "little blue book."  There are no class holidays this month.  I will not teach on the 13th but you and the fitness team will exercise as usual.

Home exercises of the month are:
Supine Butterfly, single wing for Pelvic Stability
Shoulder SNUG (scapular retraction) seated or standing

Happy June and Happy Summer!

- Debbie
